Why You Should Use A Sulfate Free Shampoo
Why you need to use Sulfate free shampoos
Why should we use Sulfate free shampoos? Well here is the answer that a lot of people probably don’t know about. We see sulfate free on our shampoo and conditioner bottles all the time, and some are even highlighted, but why is this becoming such a big deal, if sulfate shampoos are inexpensive and let’s face it, not everyone is familiar with the advantages and disadvantages of using or not using sulfate free shampoos.
There are some advantages to using shampoos that have sulfate in them, and as menial as this may sound the bubbles and lather that we get from most shampoos is thanks to the sulfates in the shampoo and conditioner. Let’s face it bubbles are good right, the more bubbles the cleaner right? Well there is a yes and no to that. Just because you have bubbles and lather does not necessarily mean that your hair is getting cleaner. You’re actually causing more damage to your hair, because this is a big part of the sulfate in the shampoo and conditioner that you are using. Also having sulfate in shampoos and conditioners is also good because it cuts grease, grime and dirt better. Cleaner hair is the goal right?
Cleaner hair is our goal and we want it to be shiny and thick and strong. However let’s face it these commercials that we see on television don’t tell you everything you need to know. They only tell you what you want to know and here. The truth is using shampoos and conditioners are not helping your hair and even can affect your skin and scalp as well. Yes, it’s bad! The sulfate in shampoos is actually stripping the natural chemicals out of our hair that is needed to maintain healthy hair that looks good. It even causes breakage and hair loss, and from personal experience I can actually say that the hair loss is due to some shampoo products. Another big problem with hair products containing sulfates is skin damage and irritation. Wondering what’s causing those breakouts and bumps? Have you tried changing up your hair care products? If you haven’t this would be one thing I would try before getting medical advice, as this may be your problem.
So next time you’re shopping for shampoo and conditioner try getting a shampoo that is sulfate free. It will tell you on the bottle if its sulfate free. You can even have an employee help locate a brand for you. So if you want healthier hair, don’t use shampoos with sulfate, this can only cause you more damage than good.
